PANAMA HISTORICAL SOCIETY
Dear Members, We have been just informed our guest speaker will not be able to make it, so the July 04, 2007 meeting is canceled. Additionally, we realize many people would have scheduling conflicts because of July 04 celebrations, and would have probably had a very low turnout. Therefore, our next meeting will be on August 01, 2007 and, tentatively, it will be a talk about the Plight of the Dolphins. Please don't hesitate to contact either of us!

Greetings all! A new section has come online. The Photo Gallery. Our first entry is the slide show from the July 05, 2006 talk about Panama's Biodiversity Museum. Our Guest Speaker was Architect Pat Dillon, lead Panamanian architect for the " Museum of BioDiversity" project of internationally-acclaimed Architect Frank Gehry ( EN | ES), to be located on the old Fort Amador military reservation, including some PowerPoint photos of concepts.
Some stunning views of the proposed architecture of the museum are there, and some other interesting pictures.
Also of interest... Please submit your ENTRIES into the Calendar of Events (right side column). Let's keep everyone appraised of happenings of interest to Panama history enthusiasts. Our first non-phs entry is about a new book signing, SOCIEDAD, ECONOMIA Y CULTURA MATERIAL, HISTORIA URBANA DE PANAMA LA VIEJA by Dr. Alfredo Castillero Calvo. Enjoy the Picture Gallery. Sincerely, Carlos H. |
