* February Presentation: James Cobbett's "Caves and Caving in Panama" speech & photos."
MEETING SCHEDULE
Don't forget our scheduled monthly meeting of the Panama Historical Society at Niko's Cafe in Balboa at 7:00 p.m. We meet like clockwork every first Wednesday of every month.
FEBRUARY SPEAKER:
Our featured speaker for February is Mr. James Cobbett. Mr. Cobbett is a Mining Engineer and Petroleum Industry Consultant living in Panama.
Of his talk he says, "Though I will mention other areas, the main purpose will be to present what we found in Bocas in the 2005 and 2006 expeditions. This includes pushing Nibida to 2 kms, diving a cenote, Weil's Diseae and crapping on a caiman. I have lots of pictures to illustrate this."
Of himself he let us know that, "I am a oil and gas consultant, married to a Panamanian for thirty years, and living in Panama for five. As there are no oil and gas operations in Panama, all my work is overseas, mainly offshore India recently. Nowadays I only work part time, which gives me more time to enjoy cave exploring and sailing, and to explore Panama. I look forward to talking about this on Wednesday evening."
Further information on Mr. Cobbet can be found <here>
Please feel free to contact our PHS President John Carlson (jcarlson@cwpanama.net) or the Secretary, Carlos Hassán at chassan@panamahistoricalsociety.org for details.
See you at the meeting!
